Clearview putter review -  The Clearview has been making quite a stir recently, it striking looks being the main reason, but does it perform as a putter in this super competitive niche?

I am really looking forward to having a go with the new Clearview Putter, the concept is such a good idea. The putter in my opinion looks fantastic, and yet also has the alignment system associated with putter training aids.

Because of the alignment lines embedded within the crystal clear construction of the head, it makes it super easy to align yourself correctly. They recommend that you mark a straight blck line on your golf ball with a Sharpie or other permanent black marker. You then align this with your target, before setting up using the black line on your ball and line on the putter to ensure correct aim.

Simple but so effective.

Golf Monthly had done a survey of weekend golfers and discovered that 95% of us do not aim where we think we are aiming. My wife had said the same, but that’s another story.

1. Using the flat on the bottom of the putter place the club flat on the ground with your feet together.

2. Adjust your eyes over the putter and move in and out until the line running perpendicular to the face disappears.

3. Set your feet and body to the position of your eyes placing the ball in the middle of your stance.

4. Position your hands on the putter moving forward and back until the bottom white line running parallel to the face disappears.

During the stroke:
If at any time you see the bottom white line you know that your swing has broken down and needs to be corrected. If you were among the top 10 putters on the PGA Tour this year you’d be using your putter for between 40 and 45% of your strokes per round.
